Task 1B

From my reading of course reader 1, I found that whereas web 1.0 is about one way communication between creator and reader. Web 2.0, facilitates interaction between creator and reader collaboration and showing between users.

Tim O'Reilly commented "The users add content to the site, and the more the users access the site and add data the better the site becomes."

Tim O'Reilly identified the three competencies which are most relevant to web 2.0 within professional practice and the work place. These are centred on users and creators and the blurring of the line between them. They are:

A) Architecture of participation

Web 2.0 as a tool of networking and communication encourages and enables participation and the ability of people to interact and collaborate, Thereby taking part in something as well as creating it

B) Remix-able data sources and data transformation

Each Web 2.0 application has a base set of methods and rules. Enabling users to be creative and engage with there own communities of those who share the same interests and goatskin an easy and democratic way.

A key aspect of web 2.0 is that surfaces are constantly evolving, and each platform is progressively developed and replaced. Thousands of people may read and interact with each other over a single blog. The users can collaborate, comment, critique, share and remix info and communications.

I am a constant user of web 2.0 as i use twitter, Facebook and youtube but sometimes i am a little conscious of people to reading my posts and status's.

After reading the reader and understanding it better, i hope that i become more motivated to communicate and collaborate, and inspired with new ideas increasing my creativity.

Task 1a Updated : My BAPP CV/Profile

Task 1a, i read the how to on the task and just did what was asked, which was upload your CV and look at how it could be improved. I didn't rewrite it as a profile improving its quality, so that is what i have done here. This took me a while as i always fine it hard to write about myself, so i found this task quite challenging. I've called it my BAPP CV/Profile:

Afi Agyeman

Young, energetic and enthusiastic, Willing to learn and open minded, Constructive and hardworking, A strong Team player and quick to learn new things. Having trained since the age of 7 in performing Arts i am very disciplined and work well under pressure and always looking for ways to improve. My Diploma in musical theatre has enabled me to strengthen my skills in performing and realise i'd like to give back and teach what i know to others.

I believe that there is always room for progress and we should never stop learning.

This site gave me some points and showed me the good and bad when writing profiles.

First Campus Session

Yesterday i had my first campus session, i was feeling very nervous but i was eager to get on with the tasks and really start to get involved with the task. We had a brief overview of the course and spoke a little about what what we wanted to achieve from the course. I found it easy to interact with everyone although there was only a few of us. What will help me with the tasks in this first module will be just to basically get on with everything and not over think everything to much. To reflect at the end of every task and blog as much as possible to share ideas. We played a movement game that made me realise i over think things to much, i need to just let go and ease myself through this journey. As that is what this course is a journey.
Something one of the students said to me really stuck out. 'Stop thinking about were you want to get and spread out, widen your horizens'. We were also asked to write some advice for those who couldn't make the session, mine was to reflect on everything and see how you can change it to make it better, also looking at people work is a helpful guide for your own journey.  :)
